Ever Talk to a Brick Wall?
In considering a career stretching out before me into the future, I feel I’m moving forward on faith and little else. I’m very fortunate to have excellent health at this point in my life, and I’ve learned quite a bit–mostly through hard knocks, panic, necessity, or a combination thereof. My life doesn’t resemble what it was even a decade ago. I’ve found some things, not only from my own experience, but actually in great abundance in the experiences of others in their quest for wellness and happiness, that really do work. The Liberation Wellness plan and the research of Dr. Weston Price for two, and some specific whole-food supplements that I cannot, will not, live without. I have come across various individuals, at varying stages of disease of complaints about their weight and over-all health, the very things I’ve heard recovered and thriving individuals describe having survived and yet, when I make specific suggestions, even close friends and relatives–it’s like it goes in one ear and out the other!!! Even simple home remedies that are amazing, and cheap! So, what the heck is this resistance?
I’ve come to the conclusion that some people don’t really want to change or get well; somehow the habit of complaining or of having no control is comforting to them, perhaps. Many of us have been conditioned to think very negatively about life, about the nature of reality, about their ability to have a positive impact on their own lives without a prescription from their doctor or the blessings of the AMA or the Food and Drug Adminstration. For some people, perhaps it is frightening or even shameful to think that all along, one actually does have the ability to affect one’s own destiny. Really, though, it’s not that bad! We’re all human for goodness sakes! And it really is, for goodness sake, that we’re human.
In the last 2 years I’ve watched my mom’s true love die, a dear friend get bad news, confirm the news, now go through the treatment and finish it before considering doing anything for herself, now suffering terribly when there are at least 2 things one can do for this particular disease that have a much higher efficacy rate than the medical treatment, and can be used with it concurrently to support the body, and are safe…I’ve seen terribly severe damage from cholesterol drugs so that the insurance companies would be happy. Would any of these people listen to me???
I’ve been talking to the wrong people, perhaps, but of course you want to help people who are close to you. That’s the toughest of all. I’m finding I’m having to continually keep turning all this over to God again, again, and again. It’s teaching me that I want to help and spread the good information very, very much and that it’s the right path for me. It’s teaching me I better know my stuff and not mind the Brick Wall too much. It seems sad, but it’s a choice. I just hated watching one man deteriorate over a the WHOLE YEAR when he chose to wait for the doctors to really look at his case seriously. When they did he had a week to live. My friend could have immune system support with a treatment that’s been used in Europe over 50 years and a supplement available around the world at wholesale prices, that has been shown to eradicate this disease 60-100% in a recent Harvard Medical School study, not to mention all the people continuing to personally chime-in with amazing reports, spoon-fed and easy to find on one’s own.
So I’m happy to keep trying to find better ways of ferreting out information, working with other people, and I’m thrilled to be with this organization! I’m becoming very passionate about raw milk, starting a buyer’s club where I live so people don’t have to pay $20 a gallon for it. Real food should be available to us. But we have to demand it! That’s it, we have to really want great health and believe in happiness. I’m committed to working towards raising consciousness about real food and whole foods in the American People. I believe in the American People; I’m 12th generation colonist and fiercely loyal to our freedoms, particularly freedom of thought. I always want to come from the position of, “Here is this information; you might not get it any other way than word-of-mouth, from others who have already benefited, and with science to back it up. It’s up to you! You have the freedom to choose this if you’d like!” I think this is the worthy use of the First Amendment; there are so many abominations of it these days, but I digress.
I have to remind myself that I, myself, was “unreachable” for many, many years. “No one” could help me, literally. Only time, a few strong voices of encouragement and love, and finally, the realization that I would have to become the person that I always needed, was the way to wellness for me. Perhaps getting out of my comfort zone, now, and being willing to plan, help, and commit to whatever inspirations I’m lucky to get, will be liberating for me, fulfilling and healing, and strangely enough what finally allows help to get to certain people who otherwise might not get it. It will all be so worth it, and it already is. I’m finally finding other people in the world that have similar priorities, feelings about life on planet Earth, and the “Brick Wall” is turning out to be a metaphor for whatever is between the undiscovered treasures within, and my current and questioning consciousness…mirrored in others that I think I have to reach. It’s not about me, it almost never is. Again, I’m reminded to leave the results to God and get out of the way!
So in a round about way, writing this to you all has improved my feelings significantly and I thank you. I think there are probably many of us who would love to help others and occasionally feel the frustration of talking to a Brick Wall. For me, I know I take it entirely too personally, and there’s probably a lot more going on behind it(The Wall) than I could ever imagine–nor is it any of my business, really. But no one I know likes knowing a loved one is suffering.
So for now, for all of us, including myself, just do the best you can, and don’t stop carrying the message no matter what. You’ll be a life-line for somebody!
Keep thinking for yourselves,
Janet Demeter
