41 Percent of All Pregnancies Aborted – NYC
Posted by Kevin Brown on March 2, 2011
Wellness starts with Values
When we see a story like this, it is almost too much for our mind to consider/ nyc41percent.com
If we are confused about how our government and corporations could promote such an unhealthy diet as to create this pandemic of obesity and chronic disease, it all begins with the value, or lack thereof, of human life. Just as the value of saturated fat, red meat and liver, which once were regarded as “sacred foods”, but in modern times has had their value turned upside-down, so it is with the value of people.
In today’s modern society, the love of money is exalted above human health- and raised above human life!
This is due to the teaching of the absurd evolutionary theory, which removes God from our thinking, and undermines the fact that we are made in His image. We are no longer the offspring of God, but have “evolved” from rocks and trees. This theory lowers us to the level of the plants and animals, and naturally encourages tree and animal worship,
Following this flawed belief system, just like following the Low-Fat belief system, logically works itself out to these devastating consequences.
Just as the Eugenics movement in America, working off the writings of Darwin, began to destroy and sterilize minorities, and the Nazi movement picked up the program to rid itself of “less evolved” undesirables, so now planned parenthood is effectively exterminating 41% of the children in the 5 Boro New York City area.
One of our founding fathers, Thomas Jefferson said “We Hold These Truths to be Self-Evident, That All Men are CREATED Equal”. We can only be equal, if we are created/

Encouragement Can Make a Difference
Posted by Debbie Wysocki on October 28, 2010
Encouragement
Don’t we all love it!
Don’t we all need it . . . particularly in today’s challenging times?
Dr. John Maxwell shares in his book titled Relationships 101 the following:
1. Most people don’t have faith in themselves.
2. Most people don’t have someone who has faith in them.
3. Most people can tell when someone else has faith in them.
4. Most people will do anything to live up to your faith in them.
*******
Ok now here are some of my thoughts:
Think about how isolated most people are . . .
They drive by themselves to an office . . .
A large part of communication is by email or texting . . .
Most people dont sit down to dinner with family. . .
Extended family is a thing of the past.
On a brighter note . . .
What can you do to encourage, affirm and lift up other people?
When you do these things, you not only become magnetic, but you truly change lives!
When you see more in others than they see in themselves (and tell them), those people will become like a flower that has water and sun . . . they are going to blossom!
Find something positive about the people you are around.
We all have ‘learning’ experiences . . .
sometimes known as failures . . . remind others that it is just that . . . an experience that can help them grow into the person they are meant to be.
Help people visualize their success and believe that they can WIN.
Every day when I pick the kids up from school, we have 5 questions . . . the last two are the most important:
1. What did you liek best about your day?
2. Did you have any challenges today?
3. What are you looking forward to tomorrow?
4. Who did you help today?
5. Who did you encourage?
Make a Difference in someone else’s life, and you make a difference in your life!
Share with us how you are encouraging others . . . members of your family, friends, community. How is this making a difference for them? How is this making a difference for you?
Our Team is about building YOUR DREAMS and believing in YOU. Thank you for sharing with us!

Have you had your mammogram?
Most women have an anniversary date in their calendars for a mammogram, but is this a date you enjoy?
It was about five years ago when I heard about something different . . .
Thermography
What is Thermography?
It’s a non-invasive test that involves digital infra red cameras usually attached to lap top computer (as many technicians are mobile). The thermal imaging technicians, which are many times nurses or doctors, take a series of photos. These photos are then read by a radiologist or thermal imaging specialist; they are looking for abnormalities, including hot spots — differences between the two breasts.

For me, this made absolute sense. Why put radiation into your body which can indeed cause cancer?
My thermographer shared that studies showed that Thermography could show abnormalities eight to twelve years before the cancer was large enough to appear in a mammogram.
How does a thermogram of the breast identify breast tissue at risk for developing cancer?
Dr. Haase explains the body acts as a near-perfect radiator, which means each side of the body will release the same amount of heat in symmetric patterns, unless there is a specific reason not to.
More heat released indicates either increased metabolic activity or blood flow in an area. This can be a result of inflammation, trauma, fibrocystic breast disease, or a very early warning sign of potential cancerous tumors. In addition, the character and pattern of blood vessels can give clues to the health and hormonal balance of the surrounding tissue. While urine, blood, and saliva tests are useful to
determine the overall level of hormones in the body, they do not take into account the fact that breast tissue produces its own estrogens which dramatically affect breast health. When detected thermographically, these patterns may be addressed proactively.
Here is what the International Academy of Clinical Termography writes . . .
Breast thermography has been researched for over 30 years, and over 800 peer-reviewed breast thermography studies exist in the index-medicus.
In this data base well over 250,000 women have been included as study participants. The numbers of participants in many studies are very large ranging from 37,000 to 118,000 women. Some of these studies have followed patients up to 12 years. Breast thermography has an average sensitivity and specificity of 90%.
Studies show that:
**An abnormal infrared image is also the single most important marker of high risk for developing breast cancer
**8 times more significant than a first order family history of the disease.
**A persistent abnormal thermogram caries with it a 22x higher risk of future breast cancer.
**When added to a woman’s regular breast health checkups, a 61% increased survival rate has been realized.
**Finally, when used as part of a multimodal approach (clinical examination + mammography + thermography) 95% of early stage cancers will be detected.
**A positive infrared scan may indicate the presence of many different breast abnormalities such as mastitis, benign tumors, fibrocystic breast disease, cancer, and others.
**Just as unique as a fingerprint, each patient has a particular infrared map of their breasts. Any modification of this infrared map on serial imaging (images taken over months to years) can constitute an early sign of an abnormality. In patients without cancer, the examination results are used to indicate the level of possible future cancer risk. Consequently, in the absence of other positive tests, an abnormal infrared image gives a woman an early warning. By maintaining close monitoring of her breast health with serial infrared imaging, self breast exams, clinical examinations, and other tests, a woman has a much better chance of detecting cancer at its earliest stage and preventing invasive tumor growth.
The image to the left shows a significant amount of heat and vascularity (angiogenesis) in the right breast, especially over the lump in the upper outer quadrant. In the image on the right, the left breast is shown to be cool with a normal limited vascular pattern.

In the third image the right breast with the area of the lump directly facing the infrared detector. The increased heat and vascularity is very evident.
The patient was sent back to her doctor with a recommendation for an immediate biopsy of the lump.
The biopsy confirmed that the lump was cancer.
Breast thermography’s ability to detect a pre-cancerous state of the breast, or signs of cancer at an extremely early stage, lies in its unique capability of monitoring the temperature variations and blood vessel alterations produced by the earliest changes in tissue physiology .
Here are a few more testimonies in support of Thermography from Doctors:
Infrared imaging, based more on process than structural changes, and requiring neither contact, compression, radiation nor venous access, provides pertinent and practical complimentary information to both clinical examination and mammography. Quality controlled abnormal infrared images heighten our index of suspicion in cases where clinical or mammographic findings are equivocal or nonspecific and signal the need for further investigation rather than observation. With the addition of infrared imaging, our sensitivity of image detection has increased from 83% to 93%.

Every woman should include breast thermography as part of their regular breast heath care. I have recommended the use of this technology extensively over the years in my newsletter. Thermography has the unique ability to “map” the individual thermal fingerprint of a woman’s breasts. Any change in this map over the course of months and years can signal an early indication of possible tumors
or other abnormalities. In fact, studies have shown that an abnormal infrared image is the single most important indicator of high risk for developing breast cancer.

Two years ago I researched breast thermography for an article in my newsletter and I was impressed with what I found. Finally, there was a sensitive test to support the information from mammograms. In addition, it could also detect potential problems at a very early stage.
For years, I’ve been looking for a test to offer my patients who refuse mammograms. Some are concerned about cumulative radiation and complications from compression, and others have personal reasons for refusing this test. Yet, to do nothing is to put their heads in the sand, and this doesn’t save lives.
With all this information in hand, I decided to find out first hand what this technology was all about. I contacted Dr. Amalu and he spent some time going over the research and background of breast thermography and provided me with a tour of his facility. I also decided to have Dr. Amalu perform a breast thermogram on me. I was pleasantly surprised with the comfort and ease of the examination.
I found in my research, and personally, that thermography can help a woman take a possible pre-cancerous condition and turn it around. It supports mammography and provides additional information. Prevention is the gold standard of health care. In my opinion, breast thermography should be part of every woman’s yearly exam to help prevent breast cancer, and for early detection.
In my opinion, Dr. Amalu is providing a lifesaving service in his center. I will continue to have regular thermograms and intend to keep writing about it in my newsletter until there are centers throughout the country.

My patients are overjoyed to find out about how breast thermography can help them maintain their breast health. Not only can the test pick up abnormalities long before they manifest via mammography, but it can also detect patterns of estrogen dominance, a possible precursor to breast cancer, which we can then work to change by balancing a woman’s hormone profile naturally.
And it’s so simple and painless. My own experience of having a thermogram at Dr. Amalu’s imaging center was very comfortable and took about 30 minutes. Multiple images from different angles were taken of my breasts and digitally processed by a sophisticated computerized system. I had had a recent breast ultrasound, wherein they could barely find the small superficial lump I had discovered. It was reassuring
to add thermography to my other tests for a more comprehensive examination.
I feel that is it important for every woman to have regular breast thermograms. Every new patient is informed about breast thermography and I provide them with a brochure that explains the procedure at the Pacific Chiropractic and Research Center. I feel confident in recommending Dr. Amalu’s thermography services to all of my patients.

While this technology has been available for 30 plus years and was used extensively in chiropractic diagnosis and was being researched as an alternative for mammography, but insurance companies chose not to cover the cost of Thermography and its mass appeal dropped off.
Even though I pay out of pocket for my Thermography exam, it’s the right choice for me and my lifestyle. I am impressed by the research behind this diagnostic tool . . . and want to personally encourage you to consider researching it for your health (if you’re a gal) or recommending it to the women in your life.

Organic Produce? . . . Local Produce? . . . Does It Matter?
Posted by Debbie Wysocki on July 18, 2010
Are Organics Worth Their Price?
That would depend . . .
The recession is lingering. . . . and for city dwellers in areas where agriculture is not big, this question can be important for a family’s budget.
While many families have sought out food co-ops and local farmers who aren’t certified organic but certainly are (they don’t use synthetic
pesticides, petroleum-based fertilizers, or sewer sludge), the chickens run free on grass, other families are making the hard choice on whether to spend their money on organic produce.
IS ORGANIC really important?
I recently came across an article in O Magazine — by author Nina Planck did a great job sharing her insights and research.
Our family is a ‘city’ family with a Whole Foods nearby a small market that provides local produce, meats, and dairy, and then
the BIG Super Market — Publix who has its allotted 6 feet of Organic produce 2 feet in the Meat section and so on.
To summarize Nina’s article, there were a whole bunch of European studies. The bottom line is that we now know that organic produce that is free of synthetic nitrogen fertilizer has:
1. A stronger immune system. The nitrogen produces a watery,
sugary cell sap that compromises the plant’s health (imagine that).*
A healthy plant, makes a healthier meal, and tastier.
2. Higher levels of beneficial antioxidants, including vitamin C
which helps prevent aging)
3. More polyunsaturated fatty acids (according to the French)
4. More nutrients according a 5-year study by 33 universities in
the United Kingdom
Maybe this will help you and your family — it’s what the guidelines we use:
These are the fruits and vegetables known to be MOST CONTAMINATED with herbicides and pesticides
1. Peaches
2. Apples
3. Bell Peppers
4. Celery
5. Nectarines
6. Strawberries
7. Cherries
8. Lettuce
9. Grapes
10. Pears
11. Spinach
12. Potatoes
13. Raspberries
14. Blueberries
15. Kale
My first weekly stop is our local market for any produce, meat, and dairy need. Note that I pretty much put ALL berries on the buy LOCAL or ORGANIC list. IF there is anything on my list that they didn’t have that our family really wants, we’ll go on to Whole Foods. Then for our paper goods and household staples, it’s either the warehouse store or Publix.
Whole Foods brings in a lot of foods from South America — I never buy anything from South America even if it says ‘organic’ from South America because frankly I just don’t believe they monitor the farming practices – but this is just me.
Here’s the list of produce that is LEAST contaminated with herbicides and pesticides
1. Sweet Corn
2. Avocados
3. Pineapples
4. Cauliflower
5. Sweet Peas
6. Broccoli
7. Onions
8. Asparagus
9. Bananas
10. Kiwi
11. Mangoes
12. Papaya
13. Eggplant
14. Cabbage
15. Watermelon
16. Tomato
17. Sweet Potato
Going Organic for many families is a lifestyle change — becoming healthier in all areas. That’s how it was for us. We are about 70% organic in our food — it’s all the kids knew until they went to school — and then they got introduced to world of their friends lunch boxes. As for our cleaning, we are close to 95% green. Of course, there is always room for improvement!
Why are farmers going organic? One, the demand is huge. Two, the money. For some farmers it’s about raising healthier plants and raising soil fertility — which of course gives better plants! Let’s hope more farmers choose to go down the organic path — more farmers means more choices and hopefully lower prices for us!
*There was a mention in Planck’s article that when a plant becomes dependent upon synthetic pesticides, it can no longer fend of pests naturally. Kinda like when people become dependent on pharmaceuticals . . .

Sleep Like a Baby . . .
Posted by Debbie Wysocki on May 18, 2010
Is It Food, Is It the Environment, Is it You?
Ever have a hard time falling asleep?
Just about everyone has a night here and there of insomnia. If you’re a woman, like me, then you may be blessed with hormonal
sleeplessness.
Other culprits:
- Stress
- Overeating
- Over Indulgence
- Raging hormones
- Too hot . . .Too cold
- Too much noise
Each of us needs a different amount of sleep to feel rested — your perfect point may be 5 hours while another person’s may be 9. Most of us fall in the 7 to 8 hour range. Sleep is important because it’s when our body repairs itself. If you are having trouble with your sleep keep reading.
Here are some things to avoid when looking to get a good night’s sleep:
• Caffeine. This one isn’t rocket science.
A recent study showed that in some people, caffeine is not metabolized efficiently and therefore they can feel the effects long after consuming it. So an afternoon cup of coffee (or even tea) will keep some people from falling asleep. Also, some medications, particularly cold meds and diet pills, you’ll may find caffeine.
• Alcohol. It may initially relax you — but there can be a rebound effect.
Many people find they wake up in the middle of the night — and they toss and turn during the night getting a restless sleep. And worse, the next morning, you could feel pretty lousy (aka hangover).
• Too Much Food. Avoid Overeating at Dinner. Eat a reasonably sized meal. This means eating protein the size of your palm and accompanying side dishes.
• Sugar. Too much sugar has ramifications — lowered immune system, more fat (after your body uses what it needs for immediate energy, the glycogen turns to fat), impaired cardiovascular function, and possible memory loss. (wow)
• Stop your Liquids 90 minutes before Bed. This will cut down on your trips to the bathroom.
• Lose weight. There is some evidence to show being overweight causes sleep apnea.
• Keep your computer and TV out of the bedroom. Dr. Mercola notes that recent studies have shown that having electrical devices in the bedroom can be a deterrant to restful sleep.
• Keep your alarm clock out of view.
Here are some things you CAN do:
Foods
Eat a healthy snack before bed –
~ 1 slice whole wheat toast topped with sliced tomato and one turkey slice
~ One cup milk with some grapes
~ 4-8 oz of yogurt
~ 1/2 cup of pudding
~sliced apple with 1 – 2 tsps of peanut butter
Rituals
Having certain rituals in place can make it easier to fall asleep. These are some of the rituals that have been shown to be most effective help with sleep.
- Warm to hot Bath
- Armomatherapy
- Be consistent in your bedtime
- Keep your bedroom on the cool side
- Keep your bed for sleeping
- Soft sheets
- Pray and or meditate
- Stop work at least one hour before bed
- A good book
Supplements Supported by Scientific Studies*
Some individuals turn to supplements to relax them for sound sleep. Below are the two favorites.
Valerian. This herb has been used as a sedative for hundreds of years (a pre-cursor to valium). Like a few popular sleep medications, valerian seems to enhance the action of the neurotransmitter GABA (gamma amino butyric acid), which acts to calm us down and make us sleepy. As with any herb, look for standardized extract — valerian should contain 0.4 to 0.6 percent of valerenic acid. Take 400 to 900 milligrams per day, two hours before bedtime. NOTE: Although valerian has been well researched for safety, it shouldn’t be taken for longer than 30 days.
Common side effects include headache, itchiness, dizziness, and gastrointestinal distress. You should not take valerian if you are pregnant or nursing, or if you are also taking a prescription sedative.
Melatonin. This neurohormone has long been linked to sleep. Research shows that people with some forms of insomnia have lower-than-normal levels of melatonin. Reviews of the medical literature suggest that taking melatonin may help some people with insomnia, in particular, some older people and so-called nightowls who naturally have a hard time falling asleep before 2 am. Other people may also benefit,
but the research is less clear. Melatonin seems to be safe if taken for only a month or two, with no known cautions.
NOTE: The most common side effects are nausea, headache, and dizziness. If you want to try melatonin, the recommended dosage is 0.3 milligrams per day. If you have trouble falling asleep, use immediate-release form; if you have trouble staying asleep, use sustained-release form. It may be several days before you see any results; but if you don’t see results after two weeks, chances are melatonin won’t work
for you.
*Although Both Valerian and Melatonin have been shown to be safe in many studies, it is always best to check with your medical professional before starting on any supplementation prgram especially if you are taking prescription medications or have any health conditions.

Just Do It . . . 7 Secrets to Get Moving
Posted by Debbie Wysocki on May 5, 2010
When anyone starts a transformation program like 30 Days to Wellness, the key is to begin with the end in mind AND keep your WHY in front of you.
WHY are you working for a new body?
Is it simply to:
~ Look Better
~ Feel Better
~ Improve Your Health
~ Enter a Marathon or Triathlon
How do we keep your WHY in front of you? First write it out. I am fit and healthy. I have incredible energy.
I have ___% body fat. I love to exercise — it moves me closer to my goal every day.
Be sure to include a picture of the YOU you want to be. This picture can be a YOU from years gone by (but with an
updated head shot) OR perhaps you may find a picture of someone else’s body you like and you’ll need to slap your
photo on it.
The point is, before you pull the covers over you head and say no to exercise or yes to a second helping of mac n cheese,
take a look at YOUR WHY!
Here are 7 Secrets that many individuals have found to be useful in getting going — and sticking to an exercise program:
1) Move to music — put a headset on or the radio or cable tv. It will depend how you choose to get moving what your
options are, but there are a lot of options. Double-the-heartbeat music makes it easier for you to move.
2) Grab a friend or partner. Most of the time when we meet friends, it’s revolves around food and eating. For the next
30 days, commit to yourself to have all dates revolve around exercise.
3) Make exercise a habit — we know that it takes 21 days to create a new habit — put the appointment in your calendar.
Move for at least 30 minutes EVERY day for 30 days. When you’re exercising make sure you are elevating your heart rate
(yes, a fast walk will do it).
4) Small Chunks — while sustained exercise is certainly beneficial, if you can only steal away for 10 or 15
minutes, go for it — every little bit adds up to reach your goal.
5) Imagine yourself where you want to be — in other words, imagine yourself as if you have already achieved your Wellness
Goal. This exercise is for all levels — imagine how you look — imagine how you feel emotionally and physically. Imagine
how great clothes look on you. Imagine how people respond to you. Imagine how you inspire others to stick to their fitness
goals. It makes it easier to exercise.
6) Buy some cute new exercise clothes (that one is for girls). This will make you look forward to exercising.
7) Try something NEW — if you always wanted to go rock climbing but have been putting it off, DO IT NOW! Make this exercise
thing fun!
Here are a couple of more quick tips to stack the deck in your favor:
Create the space . . .
This is literal and figurative
1) Where . . .
~ Will you be exercising at home? If so, have you made room to do so? Do you have all the equipment you need? Free weights,
resistance bands, cardio equipment (if you aren’t doing the walking thing)?
~ Will you be exercising at a gym? If you don’t already have a membership, do you know where you are going to join?
2) When . . .
~ Schedule the time (space) with yourself.
~ Schedule time with your friends to exercise — it makes it fun!
3) For Support . . .
~ An Accountability Team. Typically this is a team of two other people besides you who you report into regularly your
results. It helps keep you on track.
~ Build a ‘Love Posse’ Think of yourself as a flower with you in the center You need 5 people who will support you
unconditionally.
Our goal at Liberation Wellness is to support you in your wellness goals. Let us know how you are doing!

It’s Right Up There With Oxygen!
Posted by Debbie Wysocki on April 11, 2010
No, I don’t expect an answer, but Money is an important concept to get our hands around.
Some would say it’s right up there with oxygen!
Friend or Foe?
*We need to Manage it or it will become our master.
*In this economy, women are becoming the ‘Chief Financial Officer’ of their households.
*People are more open to sharing about ‘money’ because the economy has impacted everyone — and the savvy person is wise
enough to listen and be discerning.
*We have been given a great opportunity to educate our children about budgeting and priorities.
*People are recognizing that these challenging times may be around a little longer than initially expected and that we
need to not only become good stewards of our money, but become creative in generating our income.
Twenty-four years ago when I began my career as a financial analyst in Beverly Hills, I didn’t realize how many people didn’t plan for their future. It quickly became apparent that even ‘professionals’ very rarely planned. I vowed not to be one of those statistics — that’s my hope for you too!
Here are a couple of things I teach the kids:
1) 10% to God (tithing)
2) Save 20% For Investments
3) Spending — this includes fun, and gift giving — of course, it’s age appropriate for the kids as their earning potential increases.
Where did I get this formula? From one of my favorite mentors, Jim Rohn. I’ll never forget listening to one of his audios and hearing him say (more than once), teach your kids the importance of saving and giving. It’s much easier to give 10 cents out of a dollar to God than it is to give $10,000 dollars out of $100,000. If you teach your children with a dollar, it becomes a habit when it grows to $100 — and then $1,000 and so on. Rohn talked about using the savings for investments to grow your capital — not to buy the latest gadget. The gadget savings comes out of the ‘spending’ category.
Citibank has a quick sheet for talking to kids about money — here’s the link to download it:

Here’s a great site I came across this weekend that provides a variety of financial information in an easy-to-understand format on a variety of topics for kids, women, savings, retirement, insurance, college.

Another trend is that people whether people have a job they love or own a business they are passionate about, they recognize, the need for a back-up plan — some people call it a ‘Plan B.’ This can be a second job or a home business. Obviously I’m partial to the home business idea — for many reasons — here’s just three of more than 20:
1) The tax savings
2) The flexibility
3) The ability to create an additional source of income
This additional income can be used for many goals that we all have on our dream boards.
Let me know if you have any questions, I absolutely love what I do, and this is it!
